Suicide is a big deal, and what reasons drive people to suicide are as varied as the people themselves. It’s because of past experiences, mental health, military history, and many other reasons.
Members of my family, and myself, are not the only ones who have had to cope with suicide and suicidal thoughts. So when I heard about the Connections anthology, my sister Kristen and I had to reach out.
Connections is a comics anthology of short stories, all dealing with suicide and the themes of growth and reinvention. It’s a collection of stories that hope to reach out to those who are suicidal to say, “You are not alone.”
Kristen and I have a short story in this anthology because we have dealt with this before, and we wanted the chance to tell others that there is more to life. That there is a way to move forward. That there is hope.
The anthology is available on CreateSpace, and all sales go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to help found resources, research, and advocacy.
If you would like to get a copy and help the AFSP, go ahead and click here.
Here’s a small preview of the comic we made for this anthology…
It would mean a lot to not just Kristen and myself, but everyone who contributed to the anthology, if you got a copy of this book.
Suicide doesn’t affect just one person. It affects everyone. And there is hope.
Thank you for reading.
You. Are. Awesome.
